Our National Security Global Business is currently seeking an EOD Training Technician. This position is located in Edwards Air Force Base near Palmdale, California, for an initial period of performance through September 12, 2009. The position is expected to be converted to Civil Service after that time. Future work of a similar nature is possible at a different location.
Primary job responsibilities will include the following:
- Prepares and validates EOD flight's recurring training program to include scheduling, tracking and reporting flight's shortages.
- Assists with flight training and equipment needs for contingency deployments and all base support requirements, to include Prime BEEF.
- Facilitates EOD-related training programs developed for other base functional areas, to include local weapons safety, munitions familiarization, explosive ordnance reconnaissance, base recovery after attack, bomb threats, bomb discoveries, etc.
- Oversees EOD presentations, plans and programs related to public awareness seminars and training for federal, state and local civilian and law enforcement personnel/agencies.
- Develops lesson plans and assists in preparation of operating instructions for EOD responses.
- Evaluates training effectiveness by administering the Flight Quality Assurance program, and oversees the development of Flight training plans.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports incidental to render-safe and disposal activities for higher echelons.
- Issues guidance and coordinates with key staff members of the Wing Force Protection/Threat Working Group and in the development of training plans, procedures, and policies.
- Supports the installation exercise program as a member of the Exercise Evaluation Team.
- Additional duties as directed by flight management.
- Duties may include long periods of standing and/or moderate lifting.
REQUIREMENTS
- NAVSCOLEOD Graduate (DD 214 and Graduation Cert Required).
- Prior EOD with Senior Badge.
- Drivers License.
- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance.
- Honorable Discharge.
- Self Starter, Independent Thinker and Highly Motivated.
- Good Physical Condition.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and/or perform moderate lifting.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of Flight-level AFEOD functions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- OIF/OEF deployment, an active DOD Secret security clearance.
This position is based on project funding and is expected to last from February 2, 2009, through October 2, 2009. There is a possibility another position of a similar nature could be available when this term of employment expires.
