Remote Work Arrangement

Your Role as a Senior Accountant
As a Senior Accountant at SCE Credit Union, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. You'll be responsible for:
Financial Reporting and Investments

Maintain investment system, including monthly reconciliations, entries, and roll forwards, ensuring documentation for each investment is complete.

Post investment transactions and FHLB account transactions, advising on cash drawdowns from/to FHLB to/from FRB.

Perform analyses and provide recommendations on treasury activities such as internal and external investments, cash management, and investor relations.

Prepare financial projections and evaluations, including peer analysis and reporting findings to ALCO. Assist in managing credit analysis review activities to maintain high-quality investments in accordance with Credit Union policy and legal requirements.
Regulatory Reporting and Analysis

Timely prepare and file year-end member and vendor tax forms and reports.

Complete periodic regulatory and tax reporting, including quarterly NCUA Call Report, annual financial audit, NCUA examination, IRS Back-Up withholding tax payments, 1099 filing, property tax audits, and CUSO audits.

Contribute to the development of the annual financial planning/budget process and manage regulatory reports, ensuring projection of all non-interest income and expenses are incorporated.
Daily Postings & Responsibilities

Perform various accounting transactions to support day-to-day operations, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Verify and post general ledger entries such as wire transactions, ATM deposits and withdrawals, and loan payoffs.

Apply knowledge of GAAP and other regulations.

Provide support to other team members by assisting with research, error correction, and inquiries.

Recommend procedural changes to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting. Document policies, procedures, and workflows.

General Ledger Reconciliation:

Reconcile complex GL accounts including ATM cash, undeposited checks, ACH clearing accounts, and various bank accounts.

Provide month and quarter-end reports for financial reporting.

Complete month-end closing procedures including income and expense accruals, loan remittance postings, ALLL analysis, and CUSO financial statement preparation.
