Job Description

ChampionX is seeking an Applications Test Engineer to support software and hardware testing. This role can be located in Bakersfield, CA or Houston, TX.This role will collaborate with Product Line Manager, Development and Engineering, and Customer Support to plan and execute the complex testing strategy to ensure the quality of Theta software and automation hardware before release to the market. Testing function helps to ensure a reliable and quality experience is delivered to our customers with every release, thus the person filling this role will need to have high quality standards and attention to detail.

What You Will Do:

  • Review, refine, and improve User Acceptance Testing [UAT] protocols for each release

  • Execute UAT plan for newly developed software and automation hardware

  • Identification of product issues outside of testing scripts to ensure quality product for customers

  • Provide feedback to Development and Engineering on in issues observed during testing

  • Provide insights on new features and workflows to Customer Support and Customers Success in advance of new releases

  • Develop testing procedures and user guides to help identify and resolve defects

  • Other job duties assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience with software testing

  • Previous DevOps experience

  • Ability to write automated testing scripts

  • Good project management skills

  • High detail orientation

  • Critical thinking and problem solving ability

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Travel up to 10% for in-person collaboration with geographically distributed teams

  • Immigration sponsorship is not offered for this role

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with XSPOC, Rodstar, XBAL, XROD, XTOOLS, XDIAG, and SMARTEN

  • Familiarity with SQL, Mongo, and InfluxDB

  • Familiarity with Atlassian products including JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Bamboo

  • Familiarity with GIT

Compensation:

$62,000 - $74,000
