OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Document Control Clerk. This person will participate in the execution of the defined strategic quality plan in conjunction with Quality functional leadership. This position provides quality assurance and document control support to engineering, customers, suppliers, partners and internal functional departments and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. This position also participates in the quality assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements. This person will coordinate the receipt, processing and transmission of information to ensure the control and protection of quality and engineering related documents using a variety of information systems.


Responsibilities

  • Preserve various files and folder structures in the electronic/hardcopy project folders, quality management systems, database, and manufacturing software; Maintaining databases such as ERP, MES, FTP, and DMS for supporting documentation and data for ensuring fast and accurate retrieval.
  • Process, scan, index, distribute, file (hard and soft copies), retrieve and archive project related documentation received and maintain engineering documentation files in a timely manner.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze diverse submissions and assess compliance to standards utilizing independent judgment consistently and appropriately.
  • Coordinate and obtain document approvals; Interfacing with various department groups to aid with releasing and distribution of engineering and quality documentation.
  • Perform administrative duties to generate documents and support departmental functions, as necessary.
  • Search electronic sources, such as databases or repositories, or manual sources for information.
  • Complete and incorporate documentation request utilizing various software's to aid with document control process requests.
  • Maintain training records electronically and data within the learning database software, reviewing documents/ data for accuracy per internal and regulatory protocols prior to entry/ filing.

  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1+ years' experience in document control within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of configuration management of filing systems (hard and soft copies).
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Suite, Adobe Professional and WinZip.
  • Basic skills with electronic computer drawing software; preferably AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of industry and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification process (i.e. AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.).
