Job Description

Successful candidate will implement lean process improvements in a precision machining environment that reduces process variation and improves productivity and OTD, as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team. This position is located in Simi Valley, CA.

What you will do:

  • Reduce scrap and non-conformances through improved process control and lean principles.

  • Improve sales OTD through set-up reduction, process improvements.

  • Develop, document and modify manufacturing processes including process planning, fixtures, cutting tools, gages, programs, special processes, assembly, and inspection.

  • Participate in Kaizen Roadmap and engage RBS tools for process improvements.

  • Bring new ideas and positive support to the current process.

  • Implement Strategic Deployment (SD) improvements.

  • Interface with suppliers and internal customers in an effective manner

  • Assure that manufacturing engineering technical data is complete and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical/historical base for future reference that meet customer requirements.

What you will need:

  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder) per ITAR Regulations.

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Industrial, Materials Engineering

  • 5+ years' experience with most phases of prototype or small batch aerospace precision machining processes including:

    • Experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes and cutting tools.

    • Fixture design

    • Experience and knowledge of in-process and final inspection tools and methods

    • Basic knowledge of special processes

    • Basic knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100)

  • Ability to perform root cause and permanent corrective action.

  • Ability to perform multi-task management.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong project and team leadership

  • Experience with Solidworks, Microsoft Dynamics NAV is preferred.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma is preferred.

  • Experience with machine tool setup and documentation is preferred.

Expected Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 annually.
