SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:
Exelixis is seeking an Associate Director, SEC Reporting to help us grow and scale our capabilities and support the growth of the Company. This person will be a key member of the Accounting department having the primary responsibility for SEC filings including the quarterly and annual report on Form 10-Q and 10-K, as well as supporting other SEC filings and investor communications including 8-Ks, registration statements, proxy statements, press releases, conference call scripts and investor conference materials.
This person must display an in-depth knowledge of SEC reporting and Sarbanes Oxley compliance and be able to apply them to all aspects of the Company's accounting needs. This person must display proficiency in the quarter and year end processes for SEC reporting with strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This person will work closely with the Technical Accounting Team, Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations and other members of the organization as needed for the preparation and/or review of the financial statements, footnote disclosures, management discussion and analyses, in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. This person will also interface with outside auditors to support the external audit and quarterly review process. This person will also ensure the Company's accounting policies are appropriately updated as the Company continues to grow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and file Company's SEC documents (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy and registration statements)
Prepare and/or review of the financial statements, footnote disclosures, management discussion and analyses, in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations and filing of the Company's SEC documents
Prepare and/or review of GAAP and SEC checklists
Collect, synthesize and process edits received from management, auditors, and attorneys
Perform quality assurance reviews on XBRL tags
Execute proper procedures to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
Support the internal and external annual audit and quarterly review process
Support other SEC filings and investor communications including press releases, conference call scripts, investor conference materials
Perform disclosure benchmarking research
Project management and coordination of SEC reporting processes
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises staff, including hiring, scheduling and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related discipline ten years of related experience; or
Master's degree in related discipline and eight years of related experience; or
PhD degree in related discipline and five to eight years of related experience; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:
Experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
Experience with SAP S/4HANA a plus
Knowledge/Skills:
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP
In-depth knowledge of SEC reporting

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this positionis $163,000 - $232,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts.
