The Opportunity:

The Product management role is an influential leader responsible for defining, designing and driving the development and management of the features and functionality of our Digital experiences for American Girl ecommerce and digital experiences. This cross-functional position achieves results through facilitation and collaboration with key stakeholders from across the business and information technology teams. This role will determine strategic digital needs, develop and prioritize initiatives, ensure alignment with cross-functional budgets and resources, and act as a key stakeholder on various digital initiatives to ensure delivery. This role is a subject matter expert for the program portfolio and drives the long-term roadmap prioritization and alignment across all business units. The key outcome is to build the best possible experience for the American Girl customer.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Own and manage Product Roadmap & Backlogs:

  • Create and own a cross-functional product management roadmap and backlog, prioritized based on business and consumer needs, level of effort, and available resources
  • Drive the vision and strategy for your product(s), ensuring teams are working towards that vision and the wider business is aware and aligned
  • Capable of leading a team with multiple cross-functional resources in the delivery of a complex product set
  • Analyze customer needs, competitive offerings and provide direction on best practices and emerging trends in relation to ecommerce capabilities
  • Create and own the business cases and vision for digital initiatives. Manage approval process across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with team members and cross functional teams to manage project interdependencies
  • Provide clear digital requirements and business rules to guide the development of new features and define acceptance criteria of those features
  • Leverage data to report on product performance and to inform digital strategy
  • Develop recommendations to expand product capabilities and identify potential white space opportunities

Manages Projects:

  • Manage product management process in agile methodology, from strategy and ideation to discovery and build, to launch and optimization
  • Lead, influence and coordinate with global senior-level stakeholders from the business, UX, Brand Teams, Marketing, and Technology throughout the product lifecycle
  • Schedule, manage, and participate in cross-functional meetings with the ability to influence and finalize decisions through the execution of the plan
  • Identify, develop, and manage contractual relationships with strategic partners and providers
  • Oversee and drive project communication touchpoints. Revise project plans to meet changing needs and requirements as the project progresses. Recommend alternate paths/plans as the need arises to meet project goals/timeline

Leads communication touchpoints:

  • Communicate cross-functionally at the appropriate level of detail, set expectations, define business requirements, and organize releases will be critical to on-time and successful delivery of our goals
  • Lead internal product reviews to report status, issues and risks on regular basis
  • Partner with all consumer and business insight teams to measure and report on business results. Holds meetings with all internal customers, addresses issues with resolution, and documents all key discussion points and outcomes. Reviews and assesses the health of projects to identify potential issues and gaps that need to be addressed. Documents and escalates any changes in scope and/or risks

What We're Looking For:

  • Extensive (8-10 years) experience in ecommerce, innovation, production management, technology strategy and/or software development
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence and passion for digital technology and a comprehensive understanding of usability. Needs to understand the digital best practices as well as practical solutions to problems
  • Proven experience developing and managing a product roadmap for digital channel initiatives. Documented track record of navigating organizations and leveraging internal partners to create or co-create innovative, customer-focused solutions from concept through launch
  • Experience distilling business/consumer requirements/needs impacting concept development, representing the voice of the consumer throughout the product development process
  • Experience with analyzing, benchmarking and iteratively increasing conversion rates in your products
  • Experience managing others
  • Experience working in Agile methodologies
  • Highly analytical thinker with experience in both quantiative and qualititative testing methods. Skilled in developing buisness cases and quantifying the cost/benefit of user experience enhancement projectsin a digital environment
  • Innovative and forward-thinking with the ability to quickly identify potential solutions
  • Strong facilitation and influence skills as well as the ability to build strong partnerships
  • Must be able to work successfully across multiple business functions
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Positive, resilient, with an ongoing commitment to achieving high quality results
  • Focused on continuous improvement and has a growth mindset

The annual base salary range for this position is between $166,250 and $183,750.

**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
