DESCRIPTION

The Corporate Affiliates Program Services Manager, positioned within the Dean's Office External Relations division, is tasked with the implementation of programs, events, and communication strategies aimed at engaging industry and key stakeholders about the institution's initiatives, policies, and practices. This role entails providing specialized support through the management and promotion of CAP benefits, ensuring member stewardship, and handling CAP income. Additionally, the role includes planning and executing select significant events crucial to the Jacobs School and CAP objectives, leading the development and upkeep of CAP web pages, and creating and distributing communications materials.

This individual reports to the CAP Director and additionally works in close collaboration with the Chief Corporate Relations Officer and CAP Associate Director. The role requires a thorough understanding of the Jacobs School's mission and its industry-focused programs and initiatives, including but not limited to CAP and Agile Research Centers of Excellence. The Services Manager will liaise with various internal and external parties in the representation of the Jacobs School of Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of basic concepts and principles of building and maintaining effective relations with a variety of alumni and other key constituencies. Strong sense of ethical conduct that will inspire confidence and motivation with the proven ability to persuade colleagues and donor prospects

  • Basic knowledge of the institution, its mission, vision, goals, achievements, policies, and infrastructure.

  • Organizational skills including skill to meet prescribed deadlines; event planning skills.

  • Written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including tact and political acumen to effectively represent the institution.

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills. Skill to exercise effective control of situations or events in the absence of higher authority and ability to make recommendations or decisions that affect office operations and activities.

  • Applicable computer skills. Experience with, and ability to develop and use, computer applications and capabilities to create and maintain databases, and produce correspondence and reports i.e., Word, Excel, Access. Ability to assess most efficient means of retrieving information.

  • For staff in Government / Community Relations: basic knowledge of public policy and the legislative process.

  • Demonstrated skill in researching and evaluating information.

  • Skill at using independent judgement to make decisions to solve problems with minimal supervision.

  • Proven ability to work with a high level of independence, prioritize assignments and departmental needs to meet deadlines. Ability to use initiative, creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish duties.

  • Proven experience of interacting professionally and effectively while presenting a positive impression in both office and meeting environments.

  • Ability to investigate issues/problems and initiate solutions by communicating problems to the supervisor.

  • Ability to research, gather and organize information to produce concise reports using relational databases.

  • Proven mathematical skills needed to perform calculations and ability to recognize errors and/or discrepancies and take action to correct.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the philosophy of quality service and group process, with proven aptitude for working as part of a team.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $56,700 - $97,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.16 - $46.70

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
