The Senior Clinical Pharmacist is an advanced practitioner in a specialized area of pharmacy practice responsible for dispensing and monitoring a variety of home infusion therapies, coordinating care with providers, and working to ensure legal and regulatory compliance. In addition, the Senior Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring cost-effective delivery, consistent customer service, clinical effectiveness, and patient safety, and overseeing sterile compounding and technicians as appropriate. The Senior Clinical Pharmacist works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, technicians, billing analysts, and patient service coordinators.
Operating out of UC Davis Health's brand new, state of the art, Pharmacy Shared Services Center, the Senior Clinical Pharmacist provisions clinical and operational medication management for a variety of therapies spanning from specialty infusion to traditional acute therapy. Therapeutic areas the Senior Clinical Pharmacist will actively provide care include but are not limited to, rheumatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, infectious diseases, parenteral nutrition, hematology, dermatology, allergy, and oncology. As a steward of patient safety, the Senior Clinical Pharmacist will assist with USP-compliant sterile compounding operations and technology within the facility's new 1,800 square foot modular cleanroom.

The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.
The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.
