The Family Services Specialist (FSS) will focus on providing support to families facing end-of-life decisions and offering the option of organ and tissue donation to families. This position provides support to donor families during and after the donor family's hospital experience. Provides on-call response to potential organ donors to guide hospital staff through the process of organ donation, consent, and recovery. Assist the nurse procurement coordinators during the early stages of the donation process.
Participates and is compliant with mandatory regulatory approach and authorization training. Independently and accurately completes authorization paperwork with appropriate family member. Provides educational programs to nurse, physicians, health care providers and hospital workers, as well as the general public. Acts as a liaison at public events and education workshops related to organ and tissue donation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTwo (2) years of experience in the organ and tissue donation field or related health care field.
Experience working with grieving families.
Working knowledge of patient relations concepts to perform essential functions efficiently and effectively.
Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Annual Full Pay Range: $64,999 - $80,868 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $31.13 - $38.73
