Under general supervision provides coordination of all activities involved with the surgical removal, perfusion, packaging, and transportation of organs recovered for transplant. Independently recover organs for transplant, research and medical education, perform intra-operative organ perfusion and packaging of organs. Performs organ pulsatile perfusion and packing for local and import kidneys. Provides organ specific intra-operative organ perfusion and packaging for local and distant cases. Provides perfusion and packing suuport to local organ recovery teams on non-local organ recoveries when directed by AOC. Assists as directed with the organ donation process including organ donor referral, follow-up, and the on-site donation process.
Assists with training of new Surgical Coordinators and organ perfusionists. Performs Operating Room in-services for local hospitals. Under general supervision, and medical education. Participates in on-call rotation and community outreach events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOne (1) year of experience as a surgical technician or in a comparable role.
Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to use air transportation, plane, and a helicopter.
Ability to work with cadavers.
Proficient in aseptic and sterile techniques.
Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $78,509 - $97,635 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $37.60 - $46.76
