Pay Range

$152,070 - $193,812 Annually

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.


Job Description

We're looking for a Business Manager for the Innovation and Partnerships Office (IPO). In this new role, you will be responsible for the development, execution, and measurement of business and operational activities in IPO. This role reports to the IPO Director.

Leading the work scope of a team of business professionals, you will manage operational, financial, and administrative efforts in support of IPO's operations and strategic goals. You will partner with IPO leaders to support daily functions and key priorities and collaborate with colleagues throughout the organization and Laboratory to build cohesive business functions.

You will

  • Build and manage the work scope of a staff of professionals supporting administrative, financial, and operational activities.
  • Manage the scheduling and execution of prime contract, financial and programmatic reporting deliverables for IPO.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in IPO, OCFO and across LLNL, leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive, integrated plans, events, and products in support of IPO.
  • Partner closely with IPO senior leaders to translate strategic priorities and initiatives and lead efforts to implement.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to establish efficiencies throughout IPO.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to senior leadership on various aspects of operational activities.
  • Lead the team in planning, researching, executing, and managing a wide array of activities. Responsible for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in business project management, or related field or equivalent level of progressive competence gained through a combination of work-related experience, education, and training.
  • Advanced strategic thinking, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives; leading work scope of a team.
  • Collaborative leadership style, with a drive to foster a culture of professional excellence and inclusiveness.
  • Proven experience in executing deliverables and serving as a trusted resource to organizational partners and senior leadership. Experience influencing and negotiating with these leaders.
  • Detailed functional expertise and Laboratory knowledge.
  • Passion for supporting key missions in a national laboratory.
  • Solid project coordination skills with experience leading a team or directing the work scope of others.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills with a drive for quality control and excellence.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy to effectively interact with all levels at LLNL.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience working with U.S. national laboratories.
  • Understanding of the technology transfer mission, including intellectual property, partnership agreements, and entrepreneurship.
  • Advanced degree and/or experience in the financial field.

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.
