The Manager/ Sr. Manager, M&A Reporting and Analytics professional will be crucial in supporting the M&A organization at Salesforce. This role is part of a high-performance Corporate Development Integration team. It requires working with functional and business partners across the company to drive integration and business success for Salesforce's acquired business portfolio. This position is a hybrid of financial planning and analysis, and program management. Success requires a candidate to possess a balanced mix of curiosity, thoughtful analysis, presentation skills, process optimization, and business operational support.

The ideal candidate thrives in delivering solutions to sophisticated problems, has an affinity for data and analytics in support of driving business decisions, and is comfortable working with executives and stakeholders of all levels. In this role, you will be highly collaborative, working cross-functionally within the Corporate Development team, and functionally across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Business Technology, etc. to measure, analyze, visualize, and report out on our acquisitions.

This role will serve as the "go to" person for key business, integration, and retention metrics. The individual will need to handle information from multiple systems and distill into a clear message, analyze data based on decision-making by the executive leadership team, and follow up with metrics owners on definition and business narrative. The candidate must have a background in delivering standardized reporting and tailored analysis leveraging innovative technical solutions like Tableau and Einstein Analytics. Given the demands of the role attention to detail, responsiveness and the ability to influence without authority are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Own standardized reporting and readouts; Lead the governance required to develop and analyze business and integration accountability-based metrics for CEO's/ COO extended leadership every month and quarterly readouts to the Salesforce M&A Committee and Board of Directors

  • Strong project management skills to drive cross-functional alignment, ownership, and communication of standard data definitions, structures, and governance of key company performance metrics

  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and strategic vision to produce credible analysis based on numerous interrelated data sets.

  • Learn, align, and provide thought leadership on world-class best practices in FP&A and key company performance metrics process and systems

  • Build strong acumen to analyze the data and be the expert to identify inconsistencies and present findings (such as factors that drove results or data quality root causes, etc) to senior leaders across the company

  • Develop an extensive knowledge base of existing Salesforce processes, find opportunities to drive efficiency and scale in partnership with metric owners across the company

  • Strategize, evangelize, and deliver standardization of reporting and analytics capabilities in a shared services/ center of excellence model to drive efficiencies and scale

  • Lead design and solution to execute the key company metrics; lead deep dives into our processes and data to unlock business and governance opportunities

  • Strong teammate with a service-oriented attitude and customer focus


Desired Skills/Experience

  • Data science, statistical analysis skills and experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Tableau experience a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to be effective with minimal direction

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively as well as the business and technical communities

  • Structured and critical thinking to lead the governance of complex financial reporting and analytics

  • Extremely adept at integrating disparate information, correlating data, and understanding data trends

  • Experience with data quality assessment and implementing solutions to improve the data quality *

  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and challenge status quo *

  • Proven track record of building positive relationships across functions, different levels within the organization and across locations

  • Highly advanced Excel and VBA skills

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $132,800 to $225,500.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
