We are currently seeking for a Welder in the Hammer Repair department at our Monroe, NC facility. As a Welder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our forging facilities across the Carolinas by repairing and resurfacing metal dies used in production.

As a Welder, you will be responsible for interpreting technical information, utilizing a variety of welding techniques, maintaining a meticulous work environment by keeping your workspace clean and organized and prioritizing safety by following all established regulations.

This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday through Thursday. Training will take place Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Plan, layout, and perform welding, grinding, and air arcing operations to repair a variety of parts used in our rotary forge facilities, press department, and for outside vendors.
  • Utilize samples, drawings, sketches, and other instructions to plan and execute welding and grinding tasks for repairing existing parts and fabricating new ones.
  • Perform carbon arc, TIG, and stick welding operations using super alloy electrodes.
  • Detect and report defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions to supervision for correction.
  • Safely operate lift trucks and cranes to maintain material flow in the department.
  • Complete daily checklists on equipment and inventory.
  • Participate in Standard Work projects.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of (1) one year of manufacturing experience.
  • A minimum of (6) six months of welding experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret measurements and charts.
  • Proficiency in operating cranes and forklifts, up to 5-ton capacity.
  • Basic understanding of welding equipment and safety protocols.
  • Ability to withstand pressure while operating grinders
  • Comfortable sitting in one spot for 12-hour shifts, with 75% of the time spent in a 10x10 room.
