Job Description
Primary Purpose
The Project Field Engineer reports to LNG Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for providing technical leadership, and supports the construction oversight, monitoring of day to day overall construction activities and reporting of the project status. The position will also support activities through pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up as required.

Accountabilities, responsibilities, and work area may be altered from time to time based on the needs of the organization and the project.

This position is initially located in Houston, TX at the EPC office and eventually will relocate to the project site in Port Arthur, TX


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees and monitors all technical construction activities including, but not limited to, site prep, piling, piping, structural steel, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation to ensure compliance with codes, engineering drawings, specifications, environmental guidelines, quality assurance programs and construction safety program.
  • Provides Construction Manager and/or agent construction managers with technical inputs for construction planning and management.
  • Develops and maintains daily activity log and detailed records of technical construction activities.
  • Monitors, tracks and submits daily/weekly/monthly construction progress/status reports.
  • Oversees, monitors, witnesses, and ensures proper preservation of piping materials/systems in line with "Built-It-Clean", "Built-It-Tight" philosophy.
  • Oversees, monitors and reports receipt of materials on site.
  • Conducts daily construction walk-downs throughout the day.
  • Provides analyses and inputs to construction schedule and progress.
  • Provides mark-up as-built Construction/QAQC/HSSE documents by the EPC Contractor, as required.
  • Supports in providing proper documentations and reports of observations and findings of non-conformance issues and concerns.
  • Works closely with other project discipline members.
  • Collaborates and maintains positive relationship with the EPC Contractor.
  • Coordinates various meeting(s) including safety briefing. Attends internal meetings and provide input and perspective to discussions.
  • Attends safety and construction site walkthrough.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or other technical discipline. Required
Experience
  • 12 years experience in major construction projects and experience with multiple disciplines and experience in Oil and Gas industry Required
  • Experience with LNG, power plants or other large infrastructure construction projects including pre-commissioning experience. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental & safety requirements, industrial safety practices Advanced
  • In-depth knowledge of construction best practices/techniques, and construction planning and scheduling Advanced
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance & Quality Control best practices Advanced
  • In-depth knowledge of welding processes including NDT/ PWHT and applicable piping codes and standards Advanced
  • In-depth knowledge of piping, piping schedules, piping shop fabrication processes and best practices Advanced
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering, construction and safety codes & standards Advanced
  • Strong understanding and ability to read and comprehend technical documents such as P&ID, Isometric Drawing, WPS/PQR, Piping Work & Test Packages; Primavera schedule Advanced
  • Strong understanding of piping pneumatic & hydrostatic tests procedures and methods Advanced
  • Strong understanding of rigging and heavy lifts construction best practices Advanced
  • Self-starter with proven leadership abilities, strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities Intermediate
  • Team player with ability to influence and manage a team to get positive results Intermediate
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral Advanced
  • Able to present issues, concerns and provide recommendations and solutions to management Advanced
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio) Intermediate
