Essential Job Functions:

  • Be a Business Expert through knowledge of current and future trends in the business/industry and be able to create innovative and efficient solutions to business opportunities and risks
  • Create departmental sales and operational goals to include, but not limited to Sales, Margin, In Stock, Inventory Turn, Fill Rate and IMROI goals that reconcile with Total Company.
  • Oversee the gathering of data, analyzing information, developing and communicating conclusions and recommendation through all levels of the organization.
  • Develop the annual financial budget by SBU, Shop, Department, and Class in collaboration with the CMO (Category Manage Organization) partners.
  • Through budgeting process and in-season management, identify appropriate asset allocation strategies to maximize profitability. (IMROI)
  • Responsible for daily/weekly review of financial performance and provides insights and action plans for all gaps to plan.
  • Forecast Sales, Margin, Inventory and the Open to Buy at the Shop, Department, Brand, Class, Subclass, and Item levels. Reconcile middle out to top down and bottom up forecasts and OTB.
  • Drive the evaluation and recommended assortment and promotional planning activities for each category/location to achieve optimum financial results for the company.
  • Leverage business tools to engage the broader merchant team on pricing, presentation, promotion, and purchasing decisions necessary to properly forecast appropriate positions.
  • Interact professionally and effectively through excellent written and oral communication skills to all levels of the organization including Senior Level Management.
  • Demonstrate strong management and leadership skills through Influencing in a matrix organization, Leading and Developing Others and Developing Capabilities and Capacities.
  • Active participation in organizational review and develop succession plans by identifying and developing bench strength

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Normally requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Merchandising or a related field and a minimum of 5-7 years progressively responsible, professional relevant merchandising or supply chain experience, including 2 years managerial experience.
  • Must have some corporate level of knowledge and appreciation of sophisticated merchandising planning and replenishment principals is preferred.
  • Experience in retail merchandising is preferred.
  • Knowledge of election and implementation of forecasting and replenishment systems and related processes.
  • Experience with international product sourcing and planogram based replenishment is preferred.
  • Proven track record of improving inventory productivity and overall SKU profitability while maintaining high service levels in shelf in-stocks is required.
  • Experience with implementing open to buy plans at the category level and creating accurate SKU forecasts is required.
  • Experience in implementing collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment systems with key vendors is preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to produce accurate forecasts and plans is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams.
  • Understand merchandising and operations processes and the interrelationships of vendors, merchants, marketing, space planning and field operations is required.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
