Join our team as a Summer 2024 intern and contribute to Sony's commitment to sustainability and product compliance. You'll be an integral part of our Sustainability and Product Compliance Department, focusing on the dynamic landscape of chemicals and packaging legislation in the North American region. Your tasks will involve assisting in compliance efforts, particularly with California's Proposition 65, regulations concerning Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), state extended producer responsibility programs for packaging, and matters under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis to evaluate and report the impact of specific chemical and packaging laws on Sony's products. This includes reviewing current legislation, analyzing product data, and organizing information for submission to regulatory authorities.

  • Assist in reviewing Sony's existing compliance procedures to enhance our compliance efforts.

  • Research upcoming legislation that could affect Sony's operations and provide relevant insights to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program. Preferred course backgrounds include environmental studies, chemistry, or law.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Availability to participate in the program from June through the end of August.

  • Ability to commit to at least 20 hours per week, with in-office presence required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and remote work on Thursdays.

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $24.00 to $36.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base wage offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
